WHO IS WEARING THE PANTS? How many times have you heard the question Who’s wearing the pants? Many times I’m sure. Well these Solid Celebs are definitely wearing the pants. I like Raven Simone’s look with one more button her black pants outfit rocks. Queen Latifah’s pants outfit is really cute until I get down to the sneakers. I really wanted to see some sexy pumps with it to bring out the corset. The sneakers make it a more masculine look. I guess she was thinking my feet aren't hurting for no one today! I hear you! Congratulations to Oprah on the successful launch of her OWN (Oprah Winfrey’s Network) Oprah looked comfortable and casual cute in her pants outfit. Of our 3 Solid Celeb’s Who wore the pants the best? Raven Simone, Queen Latifah, or Oprah?

High Cholesterol:
A serious condition known as high cholesterol blocks the blood flow in the arteries. This can damage the heart causing strokes and heart attacks. As people continue to gain weight in the United States cholesterol is becoming a major health problem. Many people use prescription medication known as statin drugs to lower cholesterol. Recently, the news has been reporting of the serious side-effects from these medications. Naturopathic medicine is a natural alternative for managing high cholesterol utilizing diet, holistic, alternative treatments and supplements.
Why Use Naturopathic Medicine, Diet And Natural Treatments For High Cholesterol?
About 104 million people in America have elevated cholesterol levels over 200 milligrams. Any level above 200 milligrams is a health concern that could lead to heart problems. This used to be a concern only for people over 55 years old and now high cholesterol can be found in children and young adults. The problem is that the American diet is full of fatty fast food and many people have a sedentary lifestyle.

How many years have you been modeling in the plus size community? I have been modeling for about 3 ½ years now.
What sparked your interest in Plus Size Modeling? My husband and I have an entertainment company and we started an all female promotions team to help promote our events and to give local models some exposure and training. Originally I was just participating in the photo shoots. I was getting so many compliments on how I was holding my own next to the skinny models. So I started doing research on plus modeling, and just kept doing photo shoots and started doing fashion shows.
You have submitted several photos to our contest, what made you give the contest a chance? I have been going back and forth on pursuing modeling or being behind the scenes. (I’m also a fashion show coordinator and a wardrobe stylist). I’ve just decided that I want to do it ALL!
Do you consider yourself and activist in the plus size community or just a model? I’m most definitely an activist in the plus size community.
How do you activate for the plus size community? . I am the National Model Director Project Curve Appeal. We are an organization/sisterhood that was designed to empower and uplift the plus size women. We want women to see our spokes models, and know that they are and can be beautiful no matter what size they are.
What were the highlights of your modeling career for 2010? My highlights of my modeling career for 2010, would be my involvement in Project Curve Appeal. I’ve been with the organization since May 2009 and I’m enjoying every minute of it.
What's next for you in 2011? 2011 is going to be a GREAT year for me. I have been asked to coordinate a fashion show in Denver, I’ll be recruiting and training other spokes models around the country for Project Curve Appeal. My styling business is growing quickly. I’ll be partnering with some other like-minded women in the industry on some projects in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas. I will continue mentoring young girls through Mocha Sisters Organization in which I’m the National Director of Training & Development. And first and foremost, I’ll continue to be a loving mother, wife, daughter, and friend.
What advice would you give to other plus size models? I would advise other models to do their RESEARCH when getting into this industry. Get as much experience as they can, and ask questions. Anything in the wonderful world of entertainment is a difficult industry. If you can’t take criticism, this industry isn’t for you. You have to have tough skin, and be confident in who you are, especially as a plus model.
Who was the photographer of your winning photo? Darryl Lovett- 2Smiles Photography

We was talking to you on facebook about
interviewing you on the beauty pageants you hold titles for, and I want to know what made you audition for those pageants individually?
I started to compete in pageants a few years ago. At first I was just a pageant mom to my daughter Pauletta, who had been competing since she was a toddler. I had a director ask me why I wasn’t competing, I laughed. One year later from that conversation my daughter and I did a mother daughter pageant and won and that was start of my pageant career.
What is the name of the pageants? What does your title individually stand for?
The Global America systems is a unique pageant system unlike any existing system in the country known for their celebration of real women all women all ages and sizes. These pageants focus on personal achievement, as well as, community involvement. The Global America system encourages all state delegates representing their title to make a positive impact their community. This system has three different sub pageants Global America, Global US and Global America US. Each one of these pageants has different phases of competition.
How do you represent your title?
I work closely with the Communities in Schools program which is the nation’s largest dropout prevention program. I participate in book drives and mentoring at risk students. There are other causes that I work with also. My job is never done. My sister queens (other ladies that represent the same pageant system) and I travel across the United States doing community service for others; such as answering phones for MDA, cleaning cages for the humane society and walking for various charities. Being a beauty queen isn’t always a fabulous job.
How hard did you have to work to get your title what was your obstacle to overcome in the competition individually?
I use my everyday experiences as practice for my competitions. I practice my public speaking by speaking to individuals about to my platform. I practice my walking by wearing heels with confidence in the grocery store. Winning a national title isn’t an easy task. It takes a lot of practice and coaching in all aspects of competition. Sometimes you have to compete in many pageants to find the right pageant for you. Not every pageant is for everyone. Once you find one, start contacting the director for information, visit the website, and also contact a queen for that system. She knows what it takes to win the crown.
Being a plus size contestant can be a challenge for find the right gown. Most designers sell larger gowns but don’t cater to plus size women. You have to find the right gown that makes you feel confident and feminine. It is
always good to have more than sales person to help you pick a gown. I personally I have a guy friend who is my toughest critic!
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to hold a plus size pageant title?
Being a contestant especially a plus size contestant is about confident and being true to you. Your confidence and attitude has to come out in all phases of competition. I say go for it. You don’t know till you try. Your curves make you who you are. Skinny girls pay lots of money to have what we have!!
What did you gain from these pageants individually? And how was it behind the scenes in with your competitors?
I have gain so much from being in pageants. I have gained so many friends.
The ladies that I have met I can truly call my friend. Pageantry it is own sorority. Being behind the scenes of pageant is like being in at Filene's Basement during the running of brides. Women changing clothes as fast possible helping each other zip up dress, buckle shoes and find earrings.
How would you summarize your personal life and your pageant life?
Being a single mom, working woman and hold national titles simultaneously can lead to a hectic life. But I live it every day. I currently hold the titles of Miss Global US and Ms. Global America Ambassador. The Global America systems is a unique pageant system unlike any existing system in the country known for their celebration of real women all women all ages and sizes. These pageants focuses on personal achievement, as well as, community involvement. The Global America system encourages all state delegates representing their title to make a positive impact their community. This system has three different sub pageants Global America, Global US and Global America US. Each one of these pageants has different phases of competition.
In 2010 I competed on the national stage at the Global US pageant. This pageant consisted of Fitness wear, Red Carpet Runway attire and Evening gown. After competing with women who came from all over the United States; I was humbly crowned Miss Global US. Winning the crown is not you; it’s about the people that you impact during reign.I was fortunate to return back to Florence, SC for the Global America pageant. The Global America pageant has Interview, Red Carpet Runway attire and Evening gown. In 2009 I was crowned Ms. Global America Royal Elite. After countless hours of traveling across the United States doing appearances and community service; I was honored to be crowned the Global America Ambassador. Being crowned Ambassador a tremendous honor. The women who hold and the ones that have held this title are passionate about their platform, their families and the Global America system. “We all one big family.” “We all help each other out in different community service events throughout the year. “ I am very blessed and honored to be sister queens with many great women across the United States.
